Tassel Necklaces

I love tassel necklaces, especially the Leather tassel one. It’s the perfect balance between simplicity and versatility that makes me drawn to them and I would love to share with you guys how I made mine.

What you need:

  • Leather Strip. I cut mine from the piece of leather that was left over from a previous post Father’s Day Leather Bound Notebook, in case you missed it.
  • Jewelry Round Nose Pliers
  • X-acto Knife OR Pair of Scissors
  • Gold coated chain
  • Bead caps
  • Jewelry Wire

How to:

Fold your leather strip however many times and whatever length you want. I folded mine to about 2 inch long tassels.Use your jewelry wire to wrap around the top of the tassels to hold them in place and also connect the tassels to the bead caps.

Thread the wire through the bead caps and then take the pliers and bend the wire to form an eye pin. Thread the wire through the chain if you don’t have jump rings like me. After winding it around twice, trim away any excess wire.

Cut the lower side of the tassels to actually make the tassels.

Voilà!:)

This is the 1st way you could wear it. Just hanging down your neck.

Then you could knot the necklace once and wear it like so

This is when you tie it twice around your neck.

This has been tied once around the neckimg_2040.jpg

For this one, I tied the neck-piece once around the neck and tied a knot like I would a scarf. Amazing, right? Truth be told,I wore this 5 days out of 7 last week. Can’t get enough!

I just love how super versatile this necklace is.
