How to stamp your pillowcases using a fork

Stamped Pillow Cases Hi Everyone, My name is Moe and I stamp on a daily. I have been stamping endless you guys! At least since like two months ago when I discovered what it was all about and I’ve been experimenting with different types of items just to see what item makes the best stamps. I was most impressed by the patterns that the fork made , so much so I decided to share with you guys.  I had so much fun making these white and black linen pillow cases but I thought they looked so plain so I stamped them to add abit of design. It was a really fun project to do and took less than 20 minutes total to complete. All you need is; Fabric Paint/ Acrylic Paint – you could get this from Science Scope in the CBD for about Kes 80 Fork- obviously, as it…

DIY Organic Scented Candles

Hey everyone:) My name is Moe and I’m a candle collector. I have a collection of candles and it only got worse once I learned that I could make my own candles, and using non toxic materials! Apparently, I’m not the only one, cause I’ve been giving candles as gifts to my friends and they love them, at times complaining that I never give them enough. Today’s tutorial is about just that. I’m making scented non toxic candles from pure beeswax and nothing’s ever been easier. In the long run it saves you a ton of money as well, cause store bought scented candles are quite costly and you have to kind of save them for special occasions only. What you’ll need; Beeswax Candle wick, or you could get one from an old candle like I did Toothpick/Wood skewers Essential oil (optional) Empty glass jar (cause it doesn’t make sense…

Phone Stand from Empty Tissue Roll -3 ways (Recycling Project)

I love catching up with my favorite programs and series. A few examples of my favorites are; Being Mary-Jane (which is back for season 4 by the way!!), Blackish (who doesn’t love Bow?) and This is Us. However, I find that with crafting, studying and housework, I barely get enough time to watch my episodes undisturbed. I have therefore learned the art of multitasking. I watch the episodes while doing other activities, i.e, cooking, dressing, putting my make up on. One sad thing about that though, I can never find a stable place to place my phone and watch while I move around, especially in the kitchen. (as evidenced by my cracked screen). Being a DIY minded girl, I got to the internet to look for ways to solve this small problem of mine without spending a lot, and I found not one, but three ways to make a  phone…

Can-Do Attitude

Hey people, Today’s DIY is soda-licious! January (njaanuary) is here with us and is it just me or does the sun feel like its only 10 meters away?! Afternoons are just unbearable and I’ve found myself asking for ice cold soda to accompany my lunches. Now, is this in line with my new year resolutions to stay fit? Well of course not (duh!) , but whoever has a problem with that can pick it up with the sun.(talk to the hand emoji) Anyway, one day as I was enjoying my cold can of coke (honestly salivating as I write this), I noticed the recycle part and I got curious cause I’m always throwing them out. I know I’m not the only one. 15 hours on Pinterest and I think I got the perfect way to recycle your soda cans, heck even your beer cans, whichever you get to first. So…

Thread Art

“I think I deserve something beautiful.” Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love This is definitely one of the best books I ever read. American Author Elizabeth Gilbert talks about her search for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia. The memoir chronicles the author’s trip around the world after her divorce and what she discovered during her travels. That was the inspiration behind today’s project. I feel like everyone is in pursuit of self happiness and contentment, I know I am. That is what this project was about. I wanted to make an item that would serve as decor and more as inspiration every time I walked in. What better way than a wall hanging? I got the idea of thread art from some of my really cool friends (Bless your souls Kaj and Denno!) and once I gathered all supplies needed, I got to work. What I used: Plank of timber. We had…

Art, Wine and Cheese by Kanfasi- Glass Art with Kendi

The day was 29th April, a Friday evening. I was so excited to be attending Art and Wine the next day. I picked out the clothes I would wear, a pretty floral dress and strappy sandals. I had everything ready and got to bed early enough for a so called “beauty sleep”. I had everything ready! 30th April, a Saturday. 4.30 am. My alarm went off and I woke up immediately. There was something different though. It was raining crazy outside and the room was as dark as night. Then it hits me… no lights! This day couldn’t get any worse!:/ Fast forward to 2 pm when my friend Tony and I got to Warwick Center for the Art and Wine by Kanfasi. I was trying so hard to not think about the cold shower I had to take, changing my originally planned outfit and getting rained on (turns out my day…

Burlap Accessories Holder

Hey y’all, it’s been a minute! Hoping everyone is loving the new month 🙂 I am totally loving mine and the reason is that I made the most bomb accessory holder ever! And it makes me so happy just looking at it every morning. Doesn’t it look pretty? To make this, You’ll need Frame, size will depend on the number of earrings you have. I used an old frame that was in our store for so long. You could even ask a carpenter to make a thin fame for you for cheap. Hot glue gun and glue sticks, or UHU, or Fabric Glue Hessian Fabric in Natural. (Fun fact: – The name hessian is attributed to the use of the fabric to make uniforms for soldiers from the German State of Hesse. The soldiers were called Hessians… a bit too coarse for poor soldier man’s crotch, don’t you think?) Hooks…

Dressing Mirror Organization PT.1 Makeup brush holder

Keeping your makeup brushes organized doesn’t necessarily mean buying new and really expensive organizers, here’s a fun and oh so cheap way to organize your makeup brushes:) You’ll need Colored Chalks Salt Empty Clean containers (I used old coffee glass containers). You could buy Mason jars from Nakumatt, one goes for around Kshs.200 or less. Or just use plain usual glasses….any transparent container goes here. Small plates Small spoon to aid in filling the containers with the colored salt Procedure Pour some salt in one plate. Get a chalk of your preferred color and swirl the chalk around the salt. What that will do will be to color the salt! (Yes, we’re coloring salt!!!!) Swirl around until you have the color you want. I decided to layer the colors pink and purple for my 1st container and this is what I came up with. The longer the swirling time, the…
